    · Next Thursday Debate:
Should this country at this time spend its limited space exploration budget on both manned and unmanned flights or restrict itself to automated robotic missions?
· Spectral Line lab (here's some krypton spectral data...shown are the lines in Angstroms and the second column is the relative strength/brightness of the line)
· Some issues and some links for the debate:
§ What are the problems faced by putting humans in space? Can current technology solve them?
§ What are the goals of manned spaceflight: overcoming the problems of human space travel? Studying celestial objects (comets, planets, etc)? Doing experiments in space? Competing technologically w/ foreign nations? Inspiration?
§ Do manned or robotic missions best accomplish these goals?
§ How successful have the experiments on board the shuttle and the ISS been?
§ How big are the risks of manned spaceflight and how do we evaluate if it's worth the risks?
